- Mr Yuriy
Malko has been
appointed as the
new Ambassador
of Ukraine to
Romania. 59
years old, he
has degrees
in Romanic
and German
Philology and in Economics. He is also
an interpreter and lecturer in French
and in political economy. After occupying
various positions in the Soviet and
Ukrainian Ministries of Foreign Affairs
respectively, Malko was appointed as
Minister-counsellor of the Embassy
of Ukraine to Belgium, ambassador to
Morocco and the Islamic Republic of
Mauritania, with residence in Rabat. He
is fluent in French and English.

- Mr Miroslav Luci has been appointed
as Ambassador of Slovenia to
Romania, with residence in Belgrade.
A qualified medical doctor, in 1994 he was elected as Mayor of Ptuj, Slovenia,
a function he held until 2002. He was
then appointed as state secretary in the
Prime Minister’s Office for liaising between
the Government and Parliament.
His hobbies include sports, hunting and
growing wine.

- Mr Marius Oprea has been appointed
as president of the Institute
for the Investigation of the Crimes of
Communism in Romania (IICCR). 40
years-old, historian Oprea has a PhD in
the Romanian Communist secret police,
the Securitate. He has previously been
appointed as counsellor on security issues
in the office of the Prime Minister
Calin Popescu Tariceanu.

- Mr Bogdan Mazuru, 44, has been
appointed as Ambassador of Romania
to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Mr Mazuru has been Romania’s
Ambassador to NATO in Brussels since
June 2001, and his previous postings
also include work as charge d’affaires at the Embassy of Romania in Washington
DC. Mr Mazuru speaks English, French
and German.

- Mr Septimiu
Stoica, 49, a lawyer
by training,
has been elected as
the new president
of the Bucharest
Stock Exchange.
Mr Stoica was
previously the
president of the
Bucharest Commodities Exchange and
well as president of Rasdaq, Romania’s
OTC market.

- Mr Badamdordj Batkhishing has
been appointed Ambassador of Mongolia
to Romania, residing in Sofia.
|
|
- Mr Mahmood Hasan has been appointed
Ambassador of the Popular
Republic of Bangladesh to Romania, residing
in Paris.
