Israel switches focus as investors scale back in real estate
Israeli investors in Romania took a hit in the real estate sector in 2009, but hope that security, healthcare, IT&C and infrastructure will offer opportunities in the near-term May 2010 - From the Print Edition
Damaged by the economic crisis, many Israeli companies have frozen operations in Romania or reduced their activity, while some have fled the country.
“From mid 2009 we started to see a major slowdown with a lot of Israeli companies finding it more difficult to remain active in Romania,” says Yifat Inbar, first secretary of the Israeli Embassy in Bucharest and economic and commercial counselor for Romania and Bulgaria.
