Over the last two decades, a shared Communist heritage has brought a large number of Chinese business interests to Romania, especially among small enterprises in the textile trade.
Between 1989 and 2008, Chinese investors poured 400 million Euro in Romania and trade between the two countries increased year on year by 20 to 30 per cent.
