Primary energy resources and electricity increased last year compared to 2010, by 2.1 percent, electricity consumption was higher by 4 percent and exports have decreased by 19 percent, announced the Statistics National Institute (INS). Production of thermal power was 33.314 billion KWh, up by 5.305 billion KWh (18.9 percent increase). Production of hydropower was 15.033 billion kWh, down 5.097 billion kWh (-25.3 percent decrease), while that from nuclear power plants was 11.747 billion KWh, up to 123.7 million kWh (1, 1 percent increase). Electric power consumption was 52.538 billion KWh, 4 percent higher than 2010. Public lighting has decreased by 7.3 percent, while household consumption grew by 3.3 percent. Electricity export was 2.457 billion kWh, down 584 million kWh, respectively 19,2 percent.
