Spar retailer restarts development in Romania

Company Retail D & I 2011 which has on the local market Dutch franchise Spar will open in March, two new stores in Brasov, so it will reach a total of 10 units under the brand on the local market - eight in Brasov and two in Sfantu Gheorghe. This is the second attempt of the Dutch retailer to conquer Romanian market after the first ended with insolvency. However, the company projects will continue with rebranding with Spar other stores operated by the company, 11 units are now functioning under Aprozar and Gostat in Brasov. Retailer Spar stores in the local market have surfaces between 100 and 1,400 square feet and are named differently depending on size. Thus, supermarkets are called Spar, while convenience stores are Spar Express. Soon another name for stores larger than 1,000 square meters, will be added to the existing network.
