Jeffrey Franks is replaced by Dutch Erik Jan de Vrijer for IMF mission in Romania

International monetary Fund designated Dutch Erik Jan de Vrijer (photo) to take the lead of IMF mission in Romania, replacing Jeffrey Franks, at the helm of the IMG delegation in Romania for over three years. Erik Jan de Vrijer will run his first visit in Romania starting April 24 and the assignment brings in front the tensions between Romania and the Netherlands Government regarding Schengen issue. The change corresponds with the upcoming closing of Mihai Tanasescu’s second mandate as Romanian representative at IMF, taking this position in the last 5 years, will take over the responsibilities as VP of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a six-year mandate, joining the other seven VPs of EIB.
