Romtelecom and Cosmote designated providers for Bancopost telecom services
Romtelecom will provide, for the following 2 years, fiber optic and integrated IP telephony services, but also mobile and data services supplied by its partner, Cosmote Romania, for Bancpost, the bank announced. 2013-10-24 13:40:14
Following a tender started earlier this year, Romtelecom became the only provider of the bank, by adding, to the currently provided services, an unified solution comprising the following services: electronic communications (a VPN network with more than 800 points of presence, with guaranteed speeds of over 10Mbps), IP telephony (an IPTEL solution integrated with the SIP Trunk service, for more than 4000 IP phones with non-geographical numbers). Moreover, Cosmote Romania will provide mobile telephony and internet data on mobile phones.
The current contract comes as an enhancement of the partnership between Romtelecom and Bancpost, started in 2006, when it began to provide Managed Office Automation (PC maintenance for Laptops and Desktops) and Fax Server (migration from the classic TDM fax server lines to IP fax server solution). Also in 2013, Romtelecom started to deliver to Bancpost Managed Core equipment as servers, storage, routers and switches, as well as maintenance for all the network infrastructure of Bancpost including the Core bank equipment.
Ovidiu Ghiman, Chief Commercial Officer for Business Segment, Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania said: The custom-tailored proposal generated a unified data and voice network, both mobile and fixed, that is made to perfectly suit Bancpost necessities. We are glad that we succeeded to support our customer in achieving significant deductions with regards to telecom-related costs.
Aris Vrongistinos, Executive Vice President, Central Operations & IT at Bancpost added: Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance for Bancpost, and the operational capabilities and readiness to provide very good customer service is a must.
