Regional power trade closer
Romania could be set to become a regional electricity trading hub, as it moves towards a common exchange with Hungary, reports Ana-Maria Nitoi February 2009 - From the Print Edition
Romania’s long-term desire to become a regional electricity trading hub could be moving closer to reality.
This year Romanian power market operator OPCOM plans to establish a regional service provider to offer trade and settlement services to cross-country electricity markets.
This will begin with Romania and Hungary, which are both en route to establish a common electricity exchange by the beginning of 2010.
