Transelectrica inaugurates 220/110 kV Barbosi station
In late October, the National Company for Power Grid Transelectrica inaugurated the 220/110 kV Barbosi station in Galati with the completion of refurbishment works 2014-12-01 12:32:50 - From the Print Edition
The total investment was five million Euro from its own funds and the service provider for these works was a consortium consisting of SC Romelectro SA and Electromontaj Carpathian Sibiu, according to a release by Transelectrica.
The station is a node of the Electricity Transportation Network in the eastern part of the country, the source that feeds Arcelor Mittal Galati steel platform and completes the loop of 220 kV within the National Energy System that ensures the evacuation system of the electricity produced by CN Termoelectrica - Braila Thermoelectric Complex and its transfer to other areas of RET and SC Electrica SA. Commissioning of the old station 220 / 110kV Barbosi was completed in 1966. Transelectrica is the Transmission System Operator in Romania which manages, operates, maintains, modernizes and develops the transportation network, comprising 81 transformer substations with a capacity of about 37,794 MVA and 8,834.3 km of overhead lines of 110/220 kV, 400 kV and 750 kV respectively, under the management of the eight branches of transport.
