14 million Euro Ramada Plaza Craiova cut the ribbon in late November

Four-star Ramada Plaza Craiova, the only Ramada Plaza hotel outside Bucharest, opened its gates in late November after an investment of 14 million Euro, counting 162 rooms, a conference centre, two gourmet restaurants and a spa, according to a press release issued to The Diplomat – Bucharest

2015-12-06 13:40:39 - From the Print Edition

"Currently, Ramada Plaza Craiova is the most complex project in the hospitality market in southern and south-western Romania," read the release. "Located in the centre of Craiova, Ramada Plaza Craiova is ideally accessible by car, train, plane or urban transport, while being near all the city′s attractions. Hotel guests can choose from 162 bright and very spacious rooms with a contemporary design, created to integrate subtly and harmoniously the latest technologies for increased comfort." The hotel′s Events & Convention Centre offers guests three conference rooms and a large hall for festivities such as grand ballroom, with a capacity of up to 550 people. Ramada Plaza Craiova is the result of a total investment of 14 million Euro of the SC Jiul SA Craiova company in the reconstruction and complete conversion of the former Jiul Hotel to meet the standards of the Ramada Plaza international brand. Garanti Bank granted a loan of 8.3 million Euro to finance the project. Addressing both business and leisure segments, in a proportion of 90-10 per cent, Ramada Plaza Craiova estimates a turnover of 2.5 million Euro and an average occupancy of over 50 per cent in the first year of activity. "Ramada Plaza Craiova is the most complex project of its kind in the area and has been designed specifically to meet the significant demand of a market in strong business development," said Marcello Pauw, general manager of Ramada Plaza Craiova, according to the same source. "Our goal is to become the number one business address in Craiova, but our vision comprises also the innovation of a leisure segment from the city." Project management and process of affiliation to international standards of Ramada Plaza brand is provided by Trend Hospitality Management and Consulting, a strategic partner of Wyndham Hotel Group in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. With 12 Ramada units in Romania and three under development, Ramada is the largest international network in the country.
