ACUE is having a say on the conclusions of the Court of Auditors report about the electricity market performance

The members of the Federation of Associations of Energy Utility Companies (ACUE ) have taken note together with the general public, of the conclusions of the Court of Auditors' report on the performance of the electricity market in 2010-2014, the association announced today.

2016-04-22 15:32:53

This report represents an opportunity for clarification of the principles of regulation of distribution service which are similar throughout the European Union.

Operators in Europe have strict obligations of investment and maintenance of cost reduction and efficiency all with the aim of improving the quality of the service, Romania is no exception in this respect, and the results are well known and certified officially. One example would be reducing by half the duration of electricity interruptions, for the audited period (2010 - 2014).

The members of the ACUE federation stand by their investment strategy, which was done respecting legal and regulatory provisions, all with the result of improving the network they operate, as various key performance indicators show.

For the correct information of the public opinion and of authorities, we have always been open for all interested parties to clarify any miss-interpretations, regarding a system that is extremely complex and can be vulnerable to misunderstandings. In this respect, ACUE published a study on the market functioning in Europe and tariff structure in electricity and gas. We will continue to support an open dialogue and fair information exchange, in the interest of consumers and of Romanian investment climate, taking into account that ACUE members already invested during 2008 - 2014 around 9.7 billion RON and the investments need to remain at the same level.

Established in May 2012, ACUE Federation has about 25 members, among which many groups from the energy such as E.ON Romania, Engie Romania, Distrigaz Sud Retele, ENEL Romania, CEZ Romania, Electrica SA, C.N.T.E.E. Transelectrica, Electrica Furnizare, WIEE, WIROM GAS, GAZ EST, with a total of about 30,000 employees and an annual turnover of over 5.4 billion Euro.
