Electrica distributed 4.46 TWh in Q1 2016

The regulated asset base (RAB) has been estimated at of 4.344 bn lei at the end of Q1 2016 . The same reports shows that the distribution business serves 3.65 mn users, covering an area of 97,382 sq. km.

The supply business serves 3.61 mn consumers throughout Romania. Electrica supplied c. 2.78 TWh on the retail market in Q1 2016, split between the regulated and competitive market. Electrica Furnizare has the largest market share in Romania (according to ANRE's December 2015 report), with 15 per centon competitive market and 38.1 per centon regulated market, leading to an overall market share of 21.8%

The Revenues amounted to 1.4 bn ron in Q1 2016, representing a 4.4 per centincrease vs Q1 2015. The EBITDA was estimated at 257.8 mn lei in Q1 2016, a 12 per centrise compared to same period last year. The EBit was calculated at 170 mn lei, a 19.4 per centrise compared to same period last year. For the same analysed period, the company net Profit was reported at 142 mn lei in q1 2016, a 11.8 per centincrease vs Q1 2015.

According to the company financial report issued recently, the revenues increase of 3 per centthat offsets the distribution segment revenues decrease by 10 per centand also due to RON 81 million higher external revenues (outside the Group). Supply business increased mainly due to a positive volume effect, 8 per centhigher y-o-y, partially offset by a negative price effect, 6 per centdecrease y-o-y. The distribution business y-o-y decrease is mainly due to a negative price effect, generated by the lower regulated distribution tariffs partially compensated by a positive volume effect (increase of 3 per centmainly driven by EDTN and EDTS).

The company's top position is backed up by its economic results, as well as by its almost 120 years experience on the market. Electrica conducts its activity nationally, with a regional coverage in electricity distribution and supply for three areas, through its three subsidiaries: Transilvania Nord, Transilvania Sud, Muntenia Nord, as well as with a national coverage in supply, maintenance and energy-related services.
