Bike Resort Sinaia launches mountain biking route, with Sebastian Grosu brand ambassador

Bike Resort Sinaia, a project developed by Transport Urban Sinaia managed by Bogdan Falcescu, launches the new itinerary Fairy Trail, encompassing 2.5 km between the stations of Sinaia Gondola, on 1000-1400 route.

The construction of Fairy Trail started in the fall of 2015 and starting Saturday, june 18, it will be open to public and mountain biking. Starting this year, Bike Resort Sinaia welcomes the national champion Sebastian Grosu as brand ambassador. Grosu, 18, won twice the national junior championship at downhill section. "I am very happy to see developing right in my very own city, a biking resort where I can train and relax. My performances rely on this and I am very pleased to be the ambassador of this project," Grosu said.
At the beginning of this year, the the municipality of Sinaia announced the launch of a new segment, between 1400 and 2000m altitude, linking the two ski slopes at Cota 1400 and Cota 2000. The new investment at Sinaia represents the highest altitude where a cable car (telegondola) reaches in Romania, to 2050 m and operates on the hastiest transportation segment, of 45 degrees from the first three pillars. The new installation has 42 cable cars of eight places each and a transportation capacity of 1.500 persons per hour, for a route of 2.000 m.

According to Bogdan Falcescu, director of the company, the transportation facility Gondola Sinaia registered an increase of 77 per cent of its revenues in the first eight months of this year. In August this year, Transport Urban Sinaia posted a turnover increase of 58 per cent compared to the same month of 2014, while the company profit increased by 46 per cent in the same month. This autumn, the tourism services operator launched Sinaia Skyline, a pilot service for gourmet dinners organization in the heights, a project to be resumed in the spring of 2016.
