Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest announces new executive chef

Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest today announced the appointment of Franz Conde as Executive Chef for the hotel’s outlets and catering services.

2016-06-22 15:21:07

Franz Conde started his career in Venezuela, where he discovered his passion for cooking by graduating from the country's premium chef's academy, CEGA - Centro de Estudios Gastronomicos. He immediately started his aprenticeship in Italy at Aimo e Nadia (2 Michelin stars), Antica Osteria del Ponte (3 Michelin stars), Enoteca Pinchiorri (2 Michelin stars) and San Domenico (2 Michelin stars). His professional chef career continued in Southern England, where he headed and cooked for Aragua Restaurant, then moved to London as Group Executive Chef for Gaucho. He started working in the hospitality industry as the Executive Sous Chef of Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski in Istanbul.

Franz Conde says "I am absolutely honoured to lead the kitchens of Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, a hotel that is interwoven with the history of Bucharest. My ambition is to contribute in the further enriching of the gastronomy of this wonderful city by sharing all my culinary knowledge with my young and talented kitchen brigade."

Chef Conde's history with Hilton Hotels & Resorts began in 2007 with Hilton Amsterdam, where he spent nine years as Executive Chef. During this experience, he relaunched Roberto's Restaurant, including the design of a new concept, the menu and opening standards, and wrote the recipes and designed the photographic look for "Pura Cucina Italiana", Roberto's Restaurant cookbook.

Chef Conde has a number of accolades under his belt demonstrating his talents and passion for cooking. In 2011 he won the "Chef of Champions" competition as the best chef among European Hilton Hotels, and in 2012 Roberto's restaurant was endowed by Italie Magazine the "Italian Restaurant of the Year". In 2015, Franz Conde took third place at the Hilton F&B Master Competition out of 255 Hilton Hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa. His many honors and awards testify his passion and his mastery in culinary arts.

The appointment of Chef Conde as the hotel's Executive Chef will give a new impetus and a new direction in the kitchen of Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, where Chef Conde promises to delight guests with the best quality and service in the hotel's food and beverage selections.
