Hospital in Baia Mare funded with World Bank money

Manager of the Baia Mare County Emergency Hospital (SJU) Sorina Pintea said this month that the World Bank provides the medical facility 300,000 lei in funding for the purchase of top-performing medical equipment.

"The World Bank representatives in Romania visited SJU Baia Mare to get a picture of the way we function and our needs, but also to see the condition of the hospital. I think we got a positive assessment and SJU Baia Mare was included in a financing program worth 300,000 lei for the purchase of latest generation medical equipment and technologies, necessary for highly sought specialties," said Sorina Pintea.

Of recent, SJU Baia Mare was also equipped with a Logiq V2 ultrasound machine worth about 150,000 lei and two Savina 300 ventilators worth 88,800 lei each, for the CPR room.

The hospital was also included in the WB radiotherapy equipment procurement program, and in the institution′s Intensive Care and Emergencies program.

SJU Baia Mare WB-funded investments in medical equipment so far are in excess of 70,000 Euro.
