Daimler to invest 13 million Euro in a new factory in Alba county

Star Transmission, the branch of the German group Daimler in Romania, continues its development strategy on the local market and opened in mid-August a new production facility in Cugir, Alba county. Over 150 new employees will produce high-pressure pipelines for gasoline engines, according to a press release of the company. The new factory in Cugir has a surface area of 4,000 sqm and is intended only for the production of high-pressure pipelines for Mercedes Benz petrol engines. The total investment amounts to 13 million Euro and Star Transmission will be the sole supplier of this line on a worldwide scale, read the release. The production line is partly automated and 17 different types of pipes will be produced within the new facility, which will be later mounted on five types of engines. "Star Transmission has demonstrated over the past 15 years that it attaches maximum importance to productivity, efficiency and clear structures," said Falk Pruscha, the CEO of the company. "The inauguration of the Cugir factory is a clear signal of continuous development. Through this action we provide a real stimulus for the creation of new jobs and for progress in the region. The basis of our success lies in the consistent focus on the quality of our products."
