Agricola invests five million Euro in a new salami factory

In late September, Agricola Bacau, one of the leading manufacturers of Sibiu salami and chicken meat, announced the investment of five million Euro in a new production plant for raw-dried salami, according to wall-street.ro. The construction of the factory started in August 2015 and consisted of erecting a new building, connected to the existing plant, with a surface of around 5,000 sqm. "Originally, this event was planned for 2017," said Grigore Horoi, president of Agricola Bacau, quoted by the newswire. "However, since the end of 2014, we received market signals for the necessity to supplement the production capacity and the bringing forward of the investment came as a response to this." At the end of 2015, the sales of raw-dried salami of Agricola reached 2,363 tonnes, of which 1,126 tonnes are Sibiu salami. For 2016, the estimates show an increase of up to 2,750 tonnes of raw-dried and 1,350 tonnes of Sibiu Salami.
