PM Grindeanu: We are approaching budget construction responsibly, keeping within the 3 percent of the GDP deficit limit

The 2017 budget construction is approached with "maximum responsibility," the main goal being that of implementing the measures assumed in the governance programme, in the conditions of keeping within the three percent of the GDP budget deficit limit, says Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu in a Government release.

According to Agerpres, Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu and Public Finance Minister Viorel Stefan on Wednesday presented President Klaus Iohannis, during the working meeting at the Cotroceni Palace, the data supplied by the National Prognosis Commission which the 2017 budget draft is based on.

"We are approaching with maximum responsibility the 2017 budget construction, with the main goal of implementing the measures assumed in the governance programme, in the conditions of keeping within the three percent of the GDP budget deficit limit," the PM is quoted in the release as saying. "Furthermore, we have in view measures supporting the continuation of the economic growth pace, so that the economy development be concretely felt by people."

The Prime Minister pointed out, at the same time, that in drawing-up this year's budget a priority of the Government is to ensure two percent of the GDP for the Army, according to the commitments Romania assumed in the relations with NATO, the release also reads.
