Colliers: Industrial and logistic stock to increase by 500,000 sqm this year

Industrial and logistic stock will increase by about 500,000 sqm this year, continuing the upward trend of 2016, according to Colliers International. About 80 per cent of new deliveries are expected in Bucharest area, but interest is also growing in secondary cities of Romania.

"Considering the high demand from last three years, we estimate that the current logistic stock of three million sqm will increase by 500,000 sqm in 2017 (about 17 percent), the highest rate of deliveries since the financial crisis," says Laurentiu Duica, associate director - industrial division, Colliers International. "About 40 per cent of new deliveries will come from FMCG companies, 20 per cent from e-commerce sector and 10 per cent - IT deposits and electronics."

According to Colliers, deliveries in Bucharest area may rise by 80 per cent in 2017, compared to 60 per cent last year.
