AFEER: Energy price will be higher next year, but not because of the liberalization of the market
The energy price will be higher next year, but not because of the total liberalization of the market as of 1 January 2018, but because of market conditions, said Ion Lungu, president of the Association of Electricity Suppliers in Romania (AFEER). 2017-09-06 11:32:40
"From January 1, 2018, when the market is completely liberalized, there will be no fundamental changes," said Lungu. According to him, liberalization takes place at the same time as market prices rise, which is a coincidence, as prices are not due to liberalization, but to market conditions.
"I do not want to create the confusion that prices will go up due to liberalization, but because of market conditions," he added.
AFEER will organize the first edition of the National Energy Fair, September 19-22, where consumers can meet with the representatives of the suppliers to analyse their offers. Seven companies and four traditional suppliers will participate in this edition: Electrica, ENEL, CEZ, E.ON, as well as Tinmar Energy, CEO and MET.
The Association of Electricity Suppliers in Romania is a non-profit, independent, nongovernmental interprofessional association, whose main purpose is to define and support a common position of its members in matters related to the electricity supplying industry, as well as to represent its member electricity suppliers in front of the administration authorities and bodies with competences related to the electricity supplying industry, both in Romania and abroad, including for improving communication among social partners in approaching the matters related to the electricity supplying industry.
