Transelectrica inaugurated the Campia Turzii station, fully refurbished with 9 million Euro

Transelectrica inaugurated the 220/110/20 kV Campia Turzii (Cluj County) electricity station, after an investment of about 42 million RON (9 million Euro).

2017-11-17 10:23:10

This station in Campia Turzii is very important because of its role to secure electricity supply to the northern area of Transilvania, said Corina Popescu, CEO of Transelectrica.

The works started in 2014 and consisted in the complete retrofitting of the station, including primary and secondary equipment, the SCADA system, telecontrol of the National and Territorial Power Dispatcher, the installation of a 220/110 kV autotransformer and the installation of the second transformer 110 / 20 kV.

"The refurbishment of this station ensures the exploitation conditions required by the current international standards, as well as maintaining operating costs, replacing equipment used morally and physically," said Corina Popescu. "One of Transelectrica's major priorities is the closure of the 400-kV ring, a project necessary for the safe operation of the National Electricity System, which will also minimize the losses in the electricity transmission network. For the next two years, Transelectrica has an ambitious investment plan, totalling about 1.4 billion RON and one of our major concerns is the refurbishment of the power stations."
