Transelectrica has six investment objectives on the list of European PCIs

Six major investment objectives of Transelectrica are on the third list of projects of common interest (PCI) on energy infrastructure adopted at the end of the year last week by the European Commission.

2017-11-29 12:33:04

The total value of the six investments is about one billion RON, and they are included in the clusters of "Black Sea Corridor" and "Mid Continental East Corridor". All these projects contribute to the achievement of the national 400kV ring, an objective included in the governance program, which leads to an increase in the operational safety of the NPS and the achievement of an economic regime for the operation of the RET.

Projects of common interest integrate in the harmonized effort of all European Transmission System Operators to develop trans-European networks and ensure their interoperability, said Corina Popescu, CEO of Transelectrica: "The Transelectrica investments accepted by the European Commission, both at the 2015 call and at the 2017 appeal, aim primarily at increasing the interconnection capacity on Romania-Bulgaria and Romania-Serbia relations. Being included in both the second and the third list of projects of common interest, Transelectrica's investments have proven to be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable, with the aim of improving security of supply and ensuring the flexibility of the European energy system."

The projects developed by Transelectrica included on the revised list of the European Commission are: Cernavoda-Stalpu 400 kV Air Line (LEA), part of the Bulgaria-Romania Capacity Building Group; (Black Sea Corridor Cluster), Air Line (LEA) 400 Gutinas-Smardan, part of the Bulgaria-Romania Capacity Building Group; (Black Sea Corridor Cluster), Interconnection between Resita (RO) and Pancevo (RS) - part of the Romania-Serbia Group, between Resita and Pancevo; (Cluster "Mid Continental East Corridor"), Internal Line between Iron Gates and Resita (RO) - part of the Romania-Serbia Group, between Resita and Pancevo; (Cluster "Mid Continental East Corridor"), the internal line between Resita and Timisoara / Sacalaz (RO) - part of the Romania-Serbia Group, between Resita and Pancevo; (Cluster "Mid Continental East Corridor"), the internal line between Arad and Timisoara / Sacalaz (RO) - part of the Romania-Serbia Group, between Resita and Pancevo; (Cluster "Mid Continental East Corridor").
