Berarii Romaniei appoints Lucian Ghinea as the new president

The members of the association Berarii Romaniei have appointed Lucian Ghinea as the new president. Thus, starting January 1, Ghinea has taken over the responsibilities of Shachar Shaine, the president of the United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB), who was president during 2017.

"I am honoured to take over the president position of the association Berarii Romaniei, which comes to me for the second time in three-year interval," said Ghinea, according to Business Review. "I start this new mandate with the determination to continue the projects of the association, oriented towards the durable development of the beer sector and culture in Romania. I aim for a positive evolution of the beer market this year. The past years showed that an increasing trend on the beer market is possible if the local beer producers' efforts are completed by stability and predictability at economic and fiscal level."

The beer production remains one of the important factors in economic growth at Romanian level, especially due to its national feature: over 97 per cent of the beer consumed in Romanian is produced locally and over 70 percent of the agricultural raw materials for the beer production come from Romania, according to the study "Beer contribution to the European economy" from 2016.

During 14 years of existence in Romania, the association Berarii Romaniei has been the members' voice at national and international level.
