Bucharest Henri Coanda Airport could get a new terminal

A new passenger terminal could be added to Bucharest's Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni), as part of an ample development project estimated at over one billion Euro that will also include a platform, access roads, parking and buildings.

The measure is included in a Government Decision project for the approval of the technical-economic indicators of the national interest and public utility investment objective "Strategic development programme for airport infrastructure at the Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest", published for debate on Wednesday by the Transport Ministry.

The Otopeni Airport currently only has one terminal that includes several buildings. The new project will represent the second terminal of the airport and there will be a few hundred meters between the two.
The investment is expected to be completed in five years. The financing comes from the National Bucharest Airports Company, from non-reimbursable funds, bank credits and legal forms of participation by private capital.
