Transelectrica accelerates investments to increase the energy system safety in Dobrogea

The National Power Grid Company Transelectrica marked the completion of the second stage of the project of rehabilitation of the Station Transformation 400/110/20 kV Tulcea West.

The investment, worth a total of 100 million RON, is part of a larger series of completed projects, which are being executed or are to be started by Transelectrica in the Dobrogea area, meant to increase the safety of the functioning of the Electroenergetics System National and to contribute to the integration of energy from renewable sources.

The 400/110/20 kV Tulcea Vest is an important hub in the transport network, Tulcea Municipality′s power supply, the industrial platform that mainly includes ALUM Tulcea and Tulcea Shipyard. The refurbishment of the Tulcea West Station contributes to increasing the safety of NES in the Southeast by introducing new high-performance technological equipment and reducing the risk of supplying Dobrogea with electricity.

The process of refurbishment of the station was carried out in two stages: the first stage in the period 2013-2015 and the second stage in the period 2017-2018.
