Fitbit receives Company of the Year award at ANIS Gala 2019
ANIS – Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry awarded the best projects and companies in the high-tech industry in Romania, within the fifth edition of ANIS Gala.
The company of the year was named Fitbit, one of the most important players in the market for portable devices. The company entered Romania in 2017 with the takeover of Vector Watch, and in the same year, Fitbit also opened a research and development center in Bucharest, the largest outside the United States of America. Last year, the company introduced in Romania the Fitbit Pay service, which allows users to make payments to merchants using the Fitbit Bracelet or smart clock.
The Startup of the Year is Druid, a virtual assistant that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to help companies make business decisions. The company was set up in early 2018 and is already valued at 5 million euros.
Google wins the Award for the Educational Program of the Year with the Digital Workshop project. The Google initiative supports developers by setting up IT hubs in partnership with technical universities in the country. Within them, Google will provide free training for students who want to learn to develop mobile applications.
The award for the Outsourcing Project of the Year goes to Endava, a partner in the development of BT Pay service, a digital wallet application that allows Banca Transilvania customers to make contactless payments and money transfers.
Adobe Analytics was chosen Software of the Year. The solution, developed by Adobe specialists in Romania, helps companies transform large volumes of customer data, collected from a variety of sources, into concrete actions to improve consumer experience.
Fitbit ACE is the winner of the R&D Project of the Year, a child-only product that helps kids exercise more. In addition, the bracelet comes with a variety of child-specific features: challenges that can be shared with friends, motivated motivational messages, and alerts for exercise.
Zitec won for the second consecutive year the prize for the CSR Program of the Year with the initiative #cei1024, a campaign through which the Romanian company managed to gather over 3,000 volunteers who donated more than 1,400 liters of blood in only two years.
ANIS member of the year was named Adobe, who last year was actively involved in organizing the How to Web 2018 event, financially supported the ANIS Scholarship initiative, proposed interesting topics for discussion of meetings of members of the association.
