Hidroelectrica reached the production record of 2019: 4,000 MW on May 7
Hidroelectrica produced today nearly 4,000 MW, the maximum level this year. The company has secured over half of the country’s electricity consumption.
“Hidroelectrica covered approx. 51 percent of Romania’s electricity demand, due to the reduced wind power in the system and the temporary withdrawal from operation of a nuclear group. Our company produces about 45 percent of electricity at national level,” said Bogdan Badea, president of the Hidroelectrica Directorate. “It is a favorable time for hydro production, and careful planning of annual aggregate maintenance allows us to extract every available MW now. We collect the fruits of a strategic thinking of the business and at the same time ensure the stability and security of the National Energy System.”
Hidroelectrica operates a total of 208 plants with a total installed capacity of 6,166 MW.
