Transelectrica starts the process of closing the 400 kV ring of Bucharest
The economic growth registered in the last few years in the metropolitan area of Bucharest implies the need to develop the infrastructure of the transport network of Bucharest. In this respect, Transelectrica launched the tender for the acquisition of a study aimed at identifying the optimal solutions for the development of the power supply network of the metropolitan area of Bucharest, with a 10-year perspective. This approach is a decisive step for the launch of the 400kV ring closure project in Bucharest, a press release shows.
The main objective of this study is to close the 400kV ring of Bucharest by building a new electrical transformer station in the northeastern part of Bucharest, specifically in the areas of Otopeni, Tunari and Voluntari.
As additional measures to strengthen the current network in the metropolitan area of Bucharest, Transelectrica is to install a 220/110 kV autotransformer at Fundeni station and a 400 / 110kV transformer at Bucharest South Station. These two projects are in advanced acquisition phases.
The study is to be handed over to Transelectrica within five months of closing the tender and signing the contract with the winning company.
