Romania needs the Black Sea gas resources to reach its ambitious targets for reducing CO2 emissions that it has undertaken through the Green Deal, according to Virgil Popescu, the Minister of Economy, Energy and Business.
“Green Deal is the hot topic of this year. Through the Green Deal, the European Union aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 55% in 2030, and I think Romania can overcome this challenge,” said Popescu, at a conference organized by Financial Intelligence.
Romania has launched the National Integrated Plan for Energy and Climate Change, where it assumed a very ambitious target of 30.7% for renewable energy in 2030.
