EY Romania appoints Georgiana Iancu as Partner of the Indirect Tax practice
Georgiana Iancu is the new Partner of the Tax and Legal team of EY Romania’s Indirect Tax practice. In this role, Georgiana Iancu will focus on developing the Indirect Tax practice, as well as on expanding EY Romania’s footprint on the local market by transforming the department from an organisational perspective and diversifying the tax advisory services.
Georgiana Iancu was involved in a number of tax advisory, reviewing and structuring projects, as well as in developing tools and procedures to prevent VAT frauds. She also successfully assisted many local and international companies in the tax audits initiated by the Romanian taxation authorities, as well as in taxation redress proceedings. Her experience covers a wide spectrum of industries, such as retail and FMCG, real estate, energy and automotive.
In the VAT area, due to her insights in the European VAT laws, she was involved in various initiatives that led to changes in the Romanian laws.
Georgiana Iancu has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, and a Bachelor’s Degree in business management and administration with the French-Romanian Institute, University of Auvergne, IUP Clermont Ferrand. Georgiana also has a Master’s Degree in taxation with the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford and is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Advisors.
