Camelia Ene, MOL Romania: We invest in economic well-being of local communities, education, sport and healthcare-related programmes
MOL Group provides support to local communities on its operational areas. Environmental protection, contribution to the economic well-being of local communities, education, sport and healthcare-related programmes are in the core of MOL Group’s social investment strategy.
“More than ever, during this period, we all understood the importance of big companies’ contribution in the society and at the level of communities. We have started 25 years ago in developing and building our CSR programs and we collaborate with significant NGOs, foundations and associations such as: Inima Copiilor, Daruieste Viata, Fundatia pentru Parteneriat and Fundatia pentru Comunitate, among others,” Camelia Ene, CEO & Country Chairman MOL Romania said during the online conference SUSTAINABILITY IN BUSINESS – Practice what you Preach.
“We contributed this year with 500.000 Euro to fund the hospitals in fighting the pandemic, through acquisitions for medical and sanitary equipment. We also involved in building the modular area of Elias hospital, designed to treat patients with major burns. Also, we contribute, together with our partners, Inima Copiilor association, the building of a heliport at Maria Curie hospital in Bucharest. These are just few of our CSR projects as MOL Romania pioneered in this field in Romania, by building the first CRS platform 15 years ago, with some projects lasting since the very beginning of this platform,” Camelia Ene added.
MOL Group has been assisting young talented people through its public utility foundation since 2006 and so far has helped more than 7.100 young people in sports and those preparing for careers in classical music or the sciences. In Romania, more than 1,950 children received support in the amount of 770,000 Euro.
In 2006, MOL Romania and the Partnership Foundation launched the Green Belt programme that is divided into two parts, Urban Green Spaces and Natural Protected Areas. The aim of the programme is to improve green areas in local communities and offer aid to preserve protected areas.
