Gabriela Neamțu, MOL România: “It’s important for the people to build a learning mindset in order to be prepared for what the future can bring”
“Our very first concern when this crisis emerged was the safety and the health of our people. Even before the emergency state was declared, we took measures to keep our people safe and to ensure business continuity. Communication was a very important element during this whole period. This actually helps a lot in keeping people engaged. Information becomes vital and we wanted to give our employees as much relevant information as possible. We had HR sessions where colleagues could ask any HR related questions or aspects. It was important to listen to our people, to show them that they matter and that we care about them,” Gabriela Neamțu, Corporate Center & HR Manager, MOL România, said during People Empowering Business Forum 2020.
“Work from home has been the major transformation for us. There have been a lot of changes from a legal perspective and we had to adapt to them. This whole period brought a lot of novelty for HR.
When it comes to attracting and retaining competent people into the organization we have a very clear approach. Without solid culture and without people embracing this culture and the values of the company there are little chances that our strategies can be implemented and have the expected results.
It’s important for the people to build a learning mindset in order to be prepared for what the future can bring. This crisis points at our ability to change, to move away from prescribed approaches and standardized solutions. This is a great opportunity to reinvent HR and for companies to look at things differently.”
