CONAF to launch “Educated for Life” project on December 17
“Educated For Life” is a national project initiated by the National Association of Entrepreneurs (ANAA), together with the Association for the Development of Local Entrepreneurship (ADAA) and the National Confederation for Women Entrepreneurship (CONAF) and is intended to support education for economic development.
The project addresses important issues of Romanian society in 2021 such as economic recovery and the importance of education in the new economy, correlating the labor market with real economic needs – the need to educate today’s young people for tomorrow’s jobs, digitalization, new generations of consumers of financial services , vocational education and the importance of introducing it as a compulsory subject in high schools and last but not least, professional skills for the new generations of employees.
Cristina CHIRIAC, VET Ambassador (Vocational Education and Training) and President of ANAA, said: “The Educated for Life project is an innovative concept for Romania, which aims to contribute to adapting education to real economic needs and global development trends. We cannot stay in the past, we must constantly evolve and adapt. We all experienced, during the pandemic period, digitalization and online schooling and we had to adapt quickly, on the go, to working on platforms and automating processes. Global studies show that there is a discrepancy between the current skills of employees and the needs of employers generated by new technologies. Digital technologies, innovation and artificial intelligence are the new challenges, and companies to be competitive need to adopt the digital technologies needed to reinvent their business models and this means that today’s education of young people is anchored to the needs of the labor market and the school to prepare today’s young people for tomorrow’s professions. The Educated for Life project is projected towards the future, the whole approach trying to meet the challenges of the future.”
The project is structured on areas of action, coordinated by an expert – leader task force, which will centralize proposals to modernize education and adapt it to the needs of the XXI century.
To this end, ten working groups will be set up to develop conclusions from business and academia into a package of detailed strategies on the following priority topics: entrepreneurship education, financial education, vocational schools, dual education, digitalisation. and process automation, 21st century professions – vocational education – preparing today’s young people for the jobs of the future, good practice models, education and training, business performance and the need for education, education in the context of globalization and last but not least, how we are get ready for life!
The proposals made by the working groups and the conclusions of the events will be aggregated in a unitary document, which will be discussed with the Government.
The launch event of the Educated for Life project will be moderated by Adrian Măniuțiu, founder of EM360 and main partner of the event, on Thursday, December 17, 2020, starting with 11:00.
The event will be broadcast live on the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/www.anaa.ro
