The Intelligent Energy Association launches the “Consumer Academy” program

The Intelligent Energy Association, one of the most active associations in the field of energy and the only one that aims to protect energy consumers in Romania, wants to launch the CONSUMER ACADEMY program.

The association acted during this period claiming that “The liberalized market of natural gas and electricity without informed consumers, encouraged to intervene, supported to negotiate, able to analyze various offers, determined to act responsibly, prudently and without being constrained, will not be just another disappointment for the Romanian people ”.

In the context of the lack of knowledge related to the functioning of the natural gas and electricity market in Romania, but especially in the absence of campaigns for dissemination and education of consumers on how to act in free markets in order to benefit from their advantages, but especially in order to avoid the multiple pitfalls that are found in this free market, the Intelligent Energy Association has carried out a series of consumer information actions.

In the period of 2015 – 2019, the representatives of the association organized, in 22 localities in Romania, “Fair Price for Gas” campaigns, with the participation of over 1200 people who were presented the practical aspects that are the basis for drawing up a purchase contract. gases and what elements to avoid. Due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020 the information campaign took place online and included information materials for consumers on the interpretation of invoices, offers from different suppliers or the correct use of the offer comparator made available to all. those interested on the ANRE website.

Given that the members of the association are campaigning for a fair price for gas and electricity, the Intelligent Energy Association aims to launch the CONSUMER ACADEMY program, in the form of free courses in which consumers of electricity or natural gas can enroll to prepare consumers to understand energy demand, to choose the best offer, to benefit from Fair Gas and Energy Prices, to obtain contractual clauses that benefit them.

The Consumer Academy intends to organize:

– Face-to-face courses

– Online courses

– Television courses

– Broadcast courses

– Courses in the written press and online

We address all natural gas and electricity suppliers, as well as media representatives, to join our approach and support this project, so that Romanian energy and gas consumers, to acquire the knowledge necessary to operate in a free market. We also consider that the Consumer Academy can also organize courses for the staff of energy companies that interact directly or indirectly with consumers in order to put the Consumer in the forefront in all their actions.

The Intelligent Energy Association (AEI) brings together professionals in the fields of natural gas, hydrogen, electricity and energy efficiency. Its members campaign for a fair gas price and for increasing transparency in the Romanian energy market.

AEI is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to contribute to better informing domestic and non-domestic consumers of gas and energy so that they can be better prepared to negotiate purchase contracts and to be able to correctly understand the bills they pay.

AEI is and will remain a dialogue partner for all market participants, whether they are suppliers, manufacturers, operators, designers, builders, institutions, regulators, ministries, politicians, system employees or media representatives.
