BASF and AHK Romania open the registration for the competition of innovative solutions in clean energy, sustainable agriculture and circular economy
The local stage of the contest starts today and lasts until September 15, 2021
The contest takes place in 11 countries in Central and Southern Europe, including Romania
European leader in research and development and the largest chemical company in the world, BASF, in partnership with AHK Romania, launches the BASF Innovation Hub project which will bring together start-ups and innovative companies from 11 countries in Central and Southern Europe, among which and Romania.
“The harmful effects on the environment and climate change in recent decades have become a challenge for the whole world. This has led European countries to set themselves the goal of becoming the first group of climate-neutral countries. Among other things, the European Commission has adopted the Green Pact which includes a series of measures aimed at developing a sustainable economy and it is our duty to support the solutions that will facilitate this project. The Innovation Hub competition is just one of the ways to support the Green Pact “, said Andreas Lier, General Manager of BASF Romania.
The general manager of AHK Romania Sebastian Metz adds: “AHK Romania supports the EU’s efforts regarding the circular economy package and the European Green Pact. This is no coincidence, as Germany is the market leader in renewable energy technologies and a cleaner environment. ”
Applications for the BASF Innovation Hub competition can be submitted until September 15. In a first stage of the competition, the jury will choose the best idea in Romania, and in November 2021, it will be presented in the grand final BASF Innovation Hub, along with the most successful solutions from other countries.
The winner of the local competition will be awarded with 2,500 EURO gross, and the best idea from the regional stage with 5,000 EURO gross. The competition is addressed to innovative companies and start-ups with max. five members, and the basic condition for participation is that the idea applied contributes directly or indirectly to the creation of solutions for clean, reliable and accessible energy and / or to sustainable agriculture and / or to facilitate the circular economy.
