Andrei Craciun, West University of Timisoara: “We need to be in sync with us and our teams to drive change”
“If you don’t let people think for themselves, also trying to foster their own way of doing things, you won’t be driving innovation too fast. As the time passes, it’s clear that not only the last one and a half year of the pandemic has developed the tools we are using today.
We live in a world full of information and you can breach the walls only by thinking forward or crossing the lines of the things you know,” Andrei Craciun, Head of Digital Transformation & Data Analysis, West University of Timisoara said during People Empowering Business Forum 2021 organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“To develop further, you must think not necessarily outside the box, but inside the box with the information you have there, within the interaction you have in your group, but also with the tools you have at your disposal.
If you are putting a pin or a bookmark day by day and setting limits, you are not going to drive innovation, you are not going to improve anything. Sometimes you need to improve it and then just absorb the feedback, otherwise you won’t push things forwards in a timely manner.
Some years ago, we have developed a program for introducing internet and technology into almost 2,000 national libraries. What happened after? The community got back to the libraries. People that we’re not joining the library for a long time got in and learned how to use internet, how to connect with people and family abroad, and learn how to use digital tools.
We need to be in sync with us and our teams to drive change and to better prepare the future we need to look after us and our teams because nobody else will do it.”
