Delgaz Grid obtains EU funds for an investment of 88 million RON in Suceava
A Delgaz Grid project obtained co-financing from European funds for an investment of over 88.5 million RON. The investment aims to implement an intelligent distribution monitoring system in Suceava. Over 10,500 smart meters will be installed.
The investment is co-financed with over 60.7 million RON from the European Regional Development Fund (through POIM 2014-2020, Priority Axis 6: Promoting clean energy and energy efficiency in order to support a low carbon economy), the company’s contribution being over 13.7 million RON, to which is added the VAT amounting to 14.1 million RON.
The low voltage distribution network will be rehabilitated by replacing about 25 km of cables and over 1,700 electrical panels.
At the same time, the hardware infrastructure and software applications necessary for the operation of the components of the intelligent distribution monitoring system (energy management – smart metering, network monitoring and interruption management) will be implemented.
By the end of 2020, about 327,000 SMART meters have been installed for consumers in more than 750 localities in Moldova. Most units were installed in Bacau and Neamt counties, where 64 percent and 44 percent of customers respectively benefit from smart metering.
