“Data Science in Energy” – national premiere event for the energy sector
The process of digital transformation of society is a great challenge for any economy in the world. The data science economy is changing the principles of development known to date and is a huge opportunity for both companies and the national economy as a whole. Data science can make a major contribution to building an important role in a new emerging industry. This means that the Romanian society in this new field can stop being just a consumer of what others think and can become a provider and creator of innovative solutions.
The chairman of the Committee on Industries and Services in the Chamber of Deputies, Sandor Bende, together with the deputy Oana Ozmen, together with Think Tank 360, organize, on June 8, the national premiere for the energy sector, the debate “Data Science in Energy”.
The chairman of the Committee on Industries and Services in the Chamber of Deputies, Sandor Bende, said: “Such a debate is welcome in the context in which the digital transformation is making its mark in all areas of activity. I believe that together we can outline a realistic perspective on the issues that were exacerbated during the pandemic and the need to invest smartly in supporting digital inclusion. ”
In her turn, the deputy Oana Ozmen considers that this approach represents “an opportunity for an important leap in the digital development of Romania. In order to have a prosperous society, we must seize all the opportunities and benefits associated with the development of artificial intelligence, data science, and at the same time accelerate the creation of a regulatory framework conducive to the development of data science in the future. The latter will be increasingly important for future technological developments. “
Andreea Negru, moderator of the debate and President of the ADAA Association for the Development of Local Entrepreneurship, said: Together we want the science of data analysis to be promoted as a subject in schools so that the profession of “data scientist” becomes regulated at the national level. We are all aware that the future of digital transformation cannot be done without this concept – “DATA SCIENCE!”
Global trends and threats, such as the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, have also played a key role in accelerating the digitization of many areas. The manner and scope of the use of data science-based technologies in the energy sector requires in-depth reflection, based on substantial debate, involving experts in the field, representatives of the private sector, national companies and decision-makers.
The Data Science in Energy debate will bring together names from the energy industry: Zoltan Nagy-Bege – ANRE, Silvia Vlăsceanu – HENRO, Daniela Dărăban – ACUE, Petru Ruşeţ – Siemens Energy Romania, Gabriel Andronache – Transelectrica, Oana Bucur and Bogdan Dumitrescu- FPPG , Gabriel Dumitraşcu – energy expert, Ştefan Frangulea – Electrica Grup, together with representatives of the private sector and non-profit organizations: Costin Postoiu – Energy Policy Group, Horia Mihălcescu – Pentagon M&R, Andreea Ioniță Cirebea – EON, Vlad Zamfirescu – IBM , Valentin Ene – E-ARC and officials of the Romanian Parliament: Bende Sandor, Oana Ozmen, Florin Alexe – Committee on Industries and Services, Anca Dragu – Committee on Budget Finance, Lorand Antal – Committee on Energy, Energy Infrastructure and Mineral Resources Senate , Bogdan Ivan – Commission for information and communication technology, George Cristian Tuţă- deputy.
Artificial intelligence and data science will also have a key impact on energy, climate and the environment.
