Lasselsberger Ceramics Romania, the manufacturer of Cesarom ceramic tiles, aims for a 12% increase in turnover in 2022
Lasselsberger Ceramics Romania group, the producer of CESAROM brand ceramic tiles, formed by the companies SANEX S.A. and LASSELSBERGER S.A., recorded in 2021 a 4% increase in turnover compared to the previous year.
For the current year, the company aims for a turnover increase of 12%. According to company representatives, the volume of tiles and faience sold in 2021 amounted to approx. 40 million square meters, up 6% from 2020. For 2022, Lasselsberger Ceramics Romania plans to continue investments worth over 2 million euros. Of their total, the largest part is directed to the development of a ceramic tile rectification line and the launch of new product ranges using this technology.
Also, another targeted objective is the opening of a new CESAROM showroom scheduled for this summer, through which the company will bring an innovative concept of tiles and faience to Bucharest. At the same time, following the investments in the factory in Cluj-Napoca, CESAROM is launching this year 150 ceramic tiles. These include increasingly large formats, new models of rectified porcelain tiles, super glossy 120x60cm, rectified tiles with dimensions of 90×30 cm and 60x30cm, but also special pieces such as porcelain mosaics, plinths or special tiles for steps. The new products launched are part of the portfolio of complete solutions that CESAROM offers.
“Last year we recorded a record in terms of productivity, which could also be seen in the development and successful launch of new collections of tiles and floor tiles. Another important goal we achieved in 2021 was the launch of CESAROM safe+, the first range of ceramic tiles produced in Romania with antibacterial protection, the result of the research and innovation of our specialists. For 2022, we aim for a 12% increase in turnover, supported both by investments in technology that will allow us to launch new product ranges, but also by the efforts we make to come up with the best solutions in tiles and earthenware for our customers,” said Petrișor Grindeanu, General Manager of Lasselsberger Ceramics Romania.
The most requested products from CESAROM’s portfolio in 2021 were porcelain tiles, and among them the company recorded top sales with the 60×30 cm format of porcelain tiles. The most popular models from the CESAROM offer were the Canada, Caucaso, Crust, Granito, Move, Tanum or Woodstyle collections. All these collections have designs inspired by wood, stone or cement.
From the company’s data, the Romanians who purchased CESAROM ceramic tiles in 2021 allocated a budget that varied between 3500 lei and 4000 lei depending on their preferences, from an average budget between 2500 lei and 3500 lei recorded a year ago. The increase in the budget comes as a result of the increase in plated surfaces and the general increase in the price of tiles and faience, as a result of the increase in the costs of energy and raw materials used in the ceramic industry. At the same time, according to CESAROM, an important influence on the budget allocated by Romanians is generated by both the economic power of the city of residence and the degree of information on the technical and functional characteristics of the tiles.
In the top of the regions that generated the highest sales last year for CESAROM products were the big Romanian cities such as Bucharest, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași, Timișoara. 6% growth of the ceramic tile market in 2021 In 2021, the ceramic tile market grew by approximately 6% compared to the previous year, reaching a value of approximately 210 million euros and 40 million square meters. Also, company representatives estimate for 2022 a quantitative decrease of 10-15%, but a slight increase in its value.
