Corneliu Bodea, Adrem: “This ‘marriage’ between electric cars and the energy industry cannot exist without a coherent evolution of both sectors”
“The electric vehicles are a gift for the energy industry. We are a little surprised by the evolution of this sector, but it is an extraordinary gift for us. Estimates regarding the growth in electricity consumption in the future are extremely encouraging for the increase of investments in this sector,” Corneliu Bodea, president Adrem said during Green Mobility Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“The energy industry should move a little faster. Different models are made to see the evolution of electricity consumption in the future. One of the models is the one in which the electric vehicle customer comes home in the evening and wants to charge his car. They are trying to determine to what extent the low-voltage energy infrastructure can cope with such consumption. We are far from having problems in this sense now and in the near future.
Another good news for the energy industry is the Internet of Things (IoT), and the industry is concerned with putting together in a smart connection both consumption and production. The peculiarity of our industry is that every electron consumed is produced instantly at that moment.
Electric cars connected to the electrical network can help to regulate the imbalances that may appear at some point in the network. This ‘marriage’ between electric cars and the energy industry cannot exist without a coherent evolution of both sectors.”
