Enel X director Mirel Jarnea moves to LONGi Solar in SEE region
LONGi has announced the appointment of Mirel Jarnea, an expert in sustainable technologies and corporate energy efficiency solutions, to its leadership team in Southern and Eastern Europe. Based in Bucharest, Jarnea will take up the position of Business Development Manager negotiating regional sales for the largest solar module manufacturer globally.
At LONGi Mirel Jarnea will be able to leverage significant experience in sustainable and smart technology, with close to five years in senior management at Enel X and over a decade in business management positions in the lighting industry. At Enel X, a member of the Enel Group focused on electrification and the transition to sustainable tech, he led the e-Industries segment from early 2018. For 11 years prior to Enel, Mirel Jarnea served in senior management and sales positions at top global lighting technology firms.
LONGi’s European growth is additionally being driven by the “RE-Power EU” plan, which the European Commission launched aiming to increase the EU’s share of renewable energy to 45 percent and double the installed solar capacity to 600GW by 2030. Eastern and Southern Europe have already surprised observers, with remarkable growth in solar in Poland, Hungary, and Greece in the last 3 years, as SolarPower Europe reported. Romania is also set to triple its solar capacity over the decade through 2030. LONGi sales in the region track these developments, and the company plans continue supporting both the utility and distributed generation sectors in Southern and Eastern Europe as they accelerate the transition to renewable energy.
Founded in 2000, LONGi is committed to being the world’s leading solar technology company, focusing on customer-driven value creation for full scenario energy transformation.
