Daniela Daraban, ACUE: “There is no real dialogue between the authorities and the energy industry”
“The authorities very little understood that they have to listen to the energy industry. We are not talking about meetings – they exist, we are not talking about correspondence, we are not talking about participation in certain meetings. There is no real dialogue. They don’t listen! We too must learn to listen to the authorities, to better understand what they want, but we come with technical expertise and the political statement can defy reality, the technical opinion cannot. This is where our limitation comes in,” said Daniela Daraban, ACUE Executive Director, at the InvesTenergy 2022 Conference.
“It was indeed a complicated year. When you have a crisis, you must have the tools and the flexibility to act, and if you need to act on very short notice, you have to do it. Some things can be understood from frequent changes in legislation, others less so. We shouldn’t pretend that everyone knows what invoicing is, but it’s still a business and there are some technical limitations. Most of the time, we were faced with the fact that the legislation itself was inapplicable to certain articles because it was obvious that the method of application was not known”, said the ACUE representative.
