Transelectrica continues its partnership with the Polytechnic University of Timisoara
Transelectrica supports the university academic environment with an energy profile, at the national level, through initiatives to facilitate the learning process of students and to ensure optimal conditions in order to build a career in the field for future energy workers.
The company’s management recently participated together with the representatives of the Timisoara Polytechnic University, partners and collaborators from industry and professional organizations (CNR-CIGRE, ALSTR), in an event dedicated to the identification of new collaboration opportunities between industry and the academic environment, in order to support an advanced level of professional excellence.
Also, during the event, the three specialized laboratories of the Faculty of Electrical and Energy Engineering, modernized in recent years and with the support of Transelectrica, were inaugurated. Thus, for the support and development of energy education in Timisoara, Transelectrica offered UPT sponsorships in the total amount of 294,000 RON, for equipping the laboratories of High Voltage, Preventive Testing, and Electrotechnical Materials.
Gabriel Andronache, president of the Directorate of CNTEE Transelectrica SA: “We are convinced that in order to develop the research-innovation area in the energy sector at the same pace as the evolution of new technologies in the field, an integrated approach carried out in partnership with the university environment is necessary. The special importance of the partnership with the Polytechnic University of Timisoara ensures the company a permanent local contact with the future engineers who will be responsible for the proper operation of the electric transmission network, especially in the western area, which is in continuous development. The complexity and demands of the field require careful involvement and specialized human resources on the labor market in the energy sector, therefore, we treat with particular attention the collaborations and partnerships we have with the academic environment. We are happy to continue our collaboration with UPT, looking for new opportunities to expand it, and thus be actively involved in training and supporting energy students”.
Transelectrica offers scholarships to the best students of the Faculty of Electrical and Energy Engineering from the UPT, supports practical programs and study visits to electrical transformation stations. Thus, in the last seven years, Transelectrica has awarded scholarships worth over 100,000 RON to students of the Faculty of Electrical and Energy Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara.
