Angelica Barbu, CEZ Romania: “The hybrid working model is no longer nice to have, but a standard that the employers must implement”
“We are facing a revolution in the energy market. Prosumer is a word that we pronounce more and more often in recent years. We encourage prosumers through all our activities. All the effects of these new habits will be seen in terms of productivity, efficiency, and prosperity at the level of the entire community.
We have offices in the entire southern area of the country, in 7 counties. The situation regarding the way of working during the pandemic was restrictive for us, in the sense that the energy sector requires field work. At the same time, we had to make sure that our employees are healthy and protected,” Angelica Barbu, Chief People and Brand Officer, CEZ Romania said during Workplace of the Future conference organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“Approximately 1,000 employees were “transferred” to the online environment in less than a month. We achieved this with determination at the leadership level and with the trust given to the employees.
Within CEZ we have a hybrid and flexible way of working, which is also a proof of cultural change at the level of the management team.
Our studies have shown that the hybrid way of working is no longer nice to have, but a standard that the employers must implement and ensure that things are carried out as they should.
The general tendency to return to the office with a purpose is also visible in our company. I’m not just talking about connecting, I’m talking about the purpose of learning, exploring, contributing to the life of the community.
We treat the subject of ESG seriously and it is so important that it represents a structure in our organizational chart. We started by measuring our carbon footprint. Net Zero is one of the goals we have assumed until 2030. We have a list of over 90 measures that we intend to implement to achieve the Net Zero goal.”
