Bosch to open new software center in Sibiu
Bosch announced that it will open a software center in Sibiu. The representatives of the company made the announcement today during the annual Bosch conference in Romania.
Bosch closed the 2022 fiscal year with consolidated sales of 2.5 billion lei (512 million euros) in Romania, thus recording an increase of approximately four percent compared to last year. Total net sales of 10.6 billion lei (2.1 billion euros) recorded in Romania represented an increase of approximately 29 percent compared to the previous year.
“In 2022, Bosch recorded a very good performance in Romania, with double-digit growth, despite the difficult economic and social environment,” said Mihai Boldijar, general director of Robert Bosch S.R.L. and the representative of the Bosch Group in Romania.
In 2022, Bosch invested 410 million lei (83 million euros) in Romania, mainly in the development of production units in the Mobility Solutions business sector in Cluj and Blaj, as well as in the field of research and development, in within the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj.
The Bosch factory in Jucu, Cluj County, recorded significant growth in 2022, producing 12 percent more electronic control units for airbags, multi-camera systems and driving assistance compared to the previous year. Bosch has been producing state-of-the-art products in Cluj since 2013, offering a wide and competitive portfolio of electronic control units to increase traffic safety and driving comfort. Since opening, the factory has delivered more than 350 million high-quality auto parts to international customers.
In addition, the Bosch production facility in Blaj, known for its high expertise in the production of automotive components and industrial technology, plans to develop its production capacity in the Industrial Technology business sector by expanding production machinery for linear technology. In addition, in 2022, the Bosch production facility in Blaj inaugurated a modern building for resource recycling management. The facility, which covers an area of 1,750 square meters, ensures efficient on-site management and disposal of all residual materials left over from production. The company constantly invests in initiatives for education and the local community. Through its renovation projects within the universities of Sibiu and Alba Iulia, the factory in Blaj has created modern and efficient training and recreation spaces for students. In addition, in 2022, the Bosch factory in Blaj opened an afterschool center with 45 places in one of the local schools, to provide support in the education of children.
