The development of Iernut Thermal Power Plant (CTE) with the construction of a new thermal power unit with combined gas turbine cycle kicks off

SN Romgaz SA informs the shareholders and investors regarding the handover by the Electric Energy Production Branch Iernut to the executor Duro Felguera S.A. of the site for the start of works to achieve the investment objective: “Development of CTE Iernut through the construction of a new thermoelectric plant, with a combined cycle with gas turbines”.

The handover-acceptance protocol of the site, concluded on August 1, 2023, constitutes the Order of starting work on the objective.

In accordance with the provisions of Law no. 24/2017 and the A.S.F. Regulation no. 5/2018, S.N.G.N. Romgaz S.A. informed shareholders and investors that, on April 3, 2023, the Contract of procurement no. 40928/03.04.2023 with Duro Felguera S.A., having as its object “Completion of works and putting into function of the investment objective: “Development of the Iernut Thermal Power Plant (CTE) through the construction of a new combined-cycle thermoelectric plants with gas turbines””.

The deadline for completing the investment objective is 16 months from the date of the order to start the works, with the possibility of extension according to the provisions of the contract.

Răzvan POPESCU, General Manager of ROMGAZ: “On August 1, 2023, by issuing the order start of works, realization of the Power Plant with an installed power of 430 MW from Iernut, a strategic project for ROMGAZ as well as for Romania, enter a straight line. Thus, we manage to continue the project of investments and to actually move to the stage of developing the new contract for putting the plant into operation in the shortest time possible. We carefully monitor the progress of the contract to complete the work and we will continue to regularly update the capital market and investors on progress.”
