Romania Eficienta and Renergia join forces to promote the efficient use of energy
Romania Eficienta, a program run by the Energy Policy Group (EPG) with the support of OMV Petrom, started a partnership with Renergia, a technology start-up affiliated with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca that developed the first mobile sustainability application in Romania. Renergia offers citizens an innovative way to reduce their energy bills by creating a personalized energy efficiency plan with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
Using probabilistic, statistical and AI techniques combined with energy expertise, Renergia generates a personalized energy balance sheet for homes. This innovative tool estimates electricity and heat consumption while generating energy efficiency measures for users. Among the solutions proposed are the replacement of household appliances, the installation of photovoltaic systems, the insulation of the home and the use of lighting with LED technology. The main purpose of the Renergia application is to provide household consumers with all the necessary information to make the best decisions regarding the reduction of energy consumption.
“Through this collaboration, Romania Eficienta and Renergia join forces to encourage a responsible use of energy. We are delighted to have this team of dedicated researchers in our partner network, who bring a fresh perspective to the field of energy efficiency in buildings. Through this partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a more sustainable and energy-efficient future for all Romanian citizens,” said Radu Dudău, EPG president and coordinator of the Romania Eficienta program.
“Our research team at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca has made an extensive effort to create this complex tool, which will give people the ability to make informed decisions to reduce energy costs as well as environmental impact. Our solutions focus on the residential sector, given its importance in the green transition. We are happy about this partnership between Romania Eficienta and Renergia. Together, we have the same mission: to help society to consume energy in an intelligent and responsible way”, said the coordinators of the Renergia project, Dr. Eng. Alexandru Mureşan and Dr. Eng. Dacian Jurj.
