Simona Almajan, NXP Semiconductors Romania: “5G will have a global coverage of 50 percent by 2030”
“Since 2020 we have noticed a major change and entered the era of ultra-connected devices. We are talking about billions of ultra-connected devices globally. We will have around 70-80 billion ultra-connected devices globally in 2030.
5G technology has a small coverage in Romania, but we have hope. Estimates show that this technology will have a global coverage of 50-60 percent in 2030,” Simona Almajan, Country Manager NXP Semiconductors Romania said during Smart Transformation Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“Technology companies are actively working on the development of connected, autonomous and electric cars. In the smart cities of the future, cars will communicate with each other using the information provided by sensors, radar cameras, etc. The technology is very complex, and the complexity is given by the large volume of data. Devices collect, process, and classify an enormous amount of data. Based on this data, using AI, ultra-connected devices make decisions. This data is stored in the Cloud.
Security should be viewed from at least two perspectives: physical security and security implemented in software devices, so in products. Physical security is access control. There are standards that explain how we must isolate certain locations in order to prevent the entry of unauthorized people.”
