“Regional Economy: Finding Opportunities In Challenging Times” conference – November 9, 2023, Craiova
The “Regional Economy: Finding Opportunities In Challenging Times” conference organized by the Supreme Council of European Business (SCEB) and the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) on November 9, 2023 is dedicated to the business community of Craiova and the entire southwest area of Romania.
Uncertainty and business disruption during this period challenges leaders in unforeseen ways. We are in some of the most tumultuous economic times and even the largest and most successful companies will be tested by changing capital markets, interest rates, geopolitics and inflation. However, the current situation also creates some of the greatest opportunities for entrepreneurs and companies that have a regional presence and international ambitions. Therefore, one of the purposes of the conference is to debate, together with speakers and participants, the most suitable strategies for business consolidation and the way in which we can continue to make plans for the future.
Mehmet Sumeroglu, SCEB Chairman: “Economic reality has created new boundaries that businessmen can take advantage of to enter other markets or create complementary lines of production or trade. Economic crises are tough, but entrepreneurs who are agile and open to other opportunities, who are willing to take calculated risks, will manage not only to survive, but also to grow their companies. It is less important if you are based in a certain region or country because technology allows you to create strategic partnerships and take your products or services all over the world. You have to believe in your business and never give up.”
Mădălina Cîinaru – Director of the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce: “The geographical location is no longer a decisive factor in the success of a business. Modern technology, including access to digitization and AI-focused services, have removed geographical barriers, allowing entrepreneurs to create partnerships and expand their presence globally. With determination and confidence in their business, these entrepreneurs can successfully navigate an ever-changing economic world and build successful companies, regardless of where they are based, everything is now much more accessible and a click away . The changes taking place both locally and globally present an opportunity to explore new markets and diversify production and trade lines. At BRCC, we encourage member companies to actively participate in discussions or business events in order to create strong links, and the BRCC team facilitates this constant dialogue with the private and public business environment.”
During the panel conference, participants will discover new information and examples from Mehmet SUMEROGLU – SCEB Chairman, Ramona GENTĂRĂU – General Manager, Cost Contab Group, Florin PREDA – Owner, Exal Grup Romania and Cristian ANTON – Managing Partner, All Audio (Datasoft Romania).
The panel will be moderated by Alexandru Debrezeni – President of the SCEB Grand Council of Romania.
