Ursus Breweries inaugurates new bottling line, part of the 50 million euro investment in the brewery in Brasov
Ursus Breweries inaugurated a new bottling line in the Brasov factory, as well as new warehouses, laboratories and office spaces, which will contribute to the optimization of operational capacity, as part of a strategic investment of 50 million euros starting in 2020.
“Three years ago, we started one of the most daring investment projects, centered on the revitalization of our factory in Brașov, a facility with a long history in the local community, dating back to 1892, as well as the place of origin of the number one beer in Romania – Ciucaș. Despite the fact that we encountered unpredictable situations, which had a direct and indirect impact on our investment plan, we are glad that now the new line and the new facilities are fully operational. I am proud of our dedicated team and the effort my colleagues have put into achieving this goal. In addition, I am grateful for Asahi Group Holdings’ trust in us,” said Michał Mrowiec, President of Ursus Breweries.
The new bottling line is based on state-of-the-art technology and is installed in a newly constructed building. To enable its integration, multiple technological improvements were made and the approach also included various infrastructure works. In order to operate more efficiently, Ursus Breweries also built a new warehouse on the ground floor of the new building, which has an area of 1,800 sqm, and which is intended for the storage of finished products, organizing another warehouse of 1,200 sqm for packaging. Alongside this, the investment includes new laboratories, additional office space and new facilities for the more than 200 employees who work in the brewery.
The investment also included a series of improvements that take into account the sustainability component, such as the modernization of utility installations or the increase of the CO2 recovery capacity, and will be continued until 2024, when the brewery in Brasov will also benefit from a new installation of beer filtration.
